Ok so yesterday after the windmill, we drove by Doorn to go visit my dad's old house(for 4 years when he was in Elementary school) and some of his old friends, the van der Bas', who lived across the street from my day's old house up until last year. They had two boys the same ages as my dad and uncle Keith, so they pretty much grew up together. They played together all the time, and taught eachother Dutch/English. Not to mention when they were playing with fireworks on a snow day...lol
Can't seem to stay focused over here XD
We visited Huis Doorn(House Doorn) where a Prussian dude(Wilhelm II) lived around the start of WWI.
My Oma and Opa's house have shutters painted to match the one's at Huis Doorn's entrance, but I think my dad told some of y'all that when he talked in Chapel at CS that one time.
I made a vid there, but I can't upload it until we're back in ASB tomorrow night at earliest.
That life-size horse is made completely out of random sticks. So cool :D
Cows lol
Well hellooooooo there~ XD
Lol that's the Prussian dude who lived here. OMG GUESS WOT. its WWI's 100th anniversary next year!
That's a statue of a Prussian lady holding an axe. It's supposed to represent Prussia's power, honor, and formidability.
That's a Prussian eagle, stationed to "guard" Wilhelm II's resting place in the Musleum in the background. The five metal markers in the grass mark the graves of his pets, and his faithful war-horse.
AND YOU BETTER LIKE THIS PICTURE BECAUSE I LITERALLY HAD TO GO PRONE ON MY BACK AND SPENT 5 MINUTES TRYING TO GET THE ANGLES JUST RIGHT. It had to be perfect. PERFECT.
